1.) What is your favorite part of coming back to Atlanta to play?

I love the mix of old friends and new construction! I’m always doing double takes as I make my way through the city. It’s a bit disconcerting, but it keeps me on my toes.

2.) What is one surprising thing that people might not know about you or know about your music?

People might not know I am such a neat freak that I write in my journals and lyric books from back to front because I don’t want the first page to be messy.

3.) How has Atlanta influenced your musical style?

Atlanta has such a rich history of being a musical melting pot. It’s Southern. but it’s also a pretty transitory city so there are traces of so many other East Coast/Midwest influences. People aren’t afraid to get their hands dirty and mix up all these different flavors.

4.) What is your favorite song to play live?

I love to play the song “Shelter”. It’s a modern soul/folk song. I loved writing it with my friends Derek and Susan down at their studio in Jacksonville.

5.) What is one thing people can look forward to during your performance at Party at Ponce?

A few laughs.
A whole lot of soul.
