Don’t forget about your faithful companion this holiday season! A pet bandana is a great intro to sewing project for both guys & gals to get started sewing. In this class you will learn all the basics of sewing, including learning the parts of the sewing machine and how to use them, learn how to wind a bobbin, thread the machine and troubleshoot common issues. Once you’ve threaded the machine you’ll learn how to cut and pin fabric, learn the basics of understanding seam allowance, straight stitching and sewing corners. We’ll provide the measurements to cut and specific instructions to guide you along the way to make this adorable pet bandana. Available sizes from XS to XL.
Skills you will learn
The skills you will learn in the class are how to understand a sewing machine, the concept of seam allowance and how to sew to a particular seam allowance, how to pin and cut fabric, how to sew in a straight line, pivot at corners and sew a casing.
Skills expected: None!
Materials needed: 1 fat quarter. Suitable fabrics are quilting cotton and heavier weight fabrics like linen and canvas. Fabric not included in the cost of the class.
Materials provided: A sewing machine, coordinating thread, fabric shears, pins, marking tools, measuring tape and an iron.
