Ponce City Market teams up with Spalding Nix Fine Art to host a photography pop-up gallery this month featuring works from renowned artists Landon Nordeman, Spencer Sloan and Jerry Siegel. Curated by local art expert and gallerist Spalding Nix of Spalding Nix Fine Art, the pop-up will be open through the end of March, and is located between Ponce Denim Company and COCO + MISCHA.
All works in the gallery are available for purchase. Stop by from March 8 through March 31 during gallery hours:

The serger is often what sets homemade-looking garments apart from beautifully handmade garments. Learn the art of finishing your garment with a serger. In this class you will learn all the basics of the serger, including learning the parts of the serger, how to thread the machine, clean it, understand tension and troubleshoot common issues. Once you’ve threaded the machine you’ll learn various stitches and then sew a pair of leggings.
The Virginia leggings are a great intro to knits in conjunction with the serger. Leggings are a wardrobe staple, excellent as casual lounge pants or easily dressed up depending on your fabric choice. Pattern and sewing tools included at class. Fabric not included. Your fabric will need to have 40% stretch. You will need 1 & 1/2 yards of fabric for all sizes if your fabric is 60″ wide; 2 & 1/2 if you fabric is 45″ wide.
Skills taught: The skills you will learn in this class are an understanding of using sergers, how to thread the serger and troubleshoot common issues, how to sew stretch fabrics, sewing a waistband, serging seams.
Skills expected: You’ve taken one of our intro to sewing classes or have equivalent experience. You have some basic garment sewing experience and know how to read a sewing pattern. You know how to thread and use a sewing machine. You’ve sewn within the last 2 years. You will not be taught to sew in this class so please be sure you already know how to sew!
Materials needed: Fabric. You will need 1 & 1/2 yards of fabric for all sizes if your fabric is 60″ wide; 2 & 1/2 if you fabric is 45″ wide. Fabric should have 40% stretch.
Materials provided: Sergers, leggings sewing pattern, a sewing machine, coordinating thread, fabric shears, pins, marking tools, measuring tape and an iron.
































Learning to sew a throw pillow is the classic beginner sewing class. In this 3 hour class you will learn to sew and make a throw pillow with an invisible zipper. You will learn all the basics of sewing, including learning the parts of the sewing machine and how to use them, how to wind a bobbin, thread the machine and troubleshoot common issues. You’ll also learn how to cut out your pattern, learn the basics of understanding seam allowance, straight stitching and sewing along curves. We’ll provide the pattern and specific instructions and guide you along the way to make a the pillow. The pattern and sewing tools are included in class. Fabric not included. Please bring 1 yard fabric to class.
- Skills Taught: You will learn how to use a sewing machine, the concept of seam allowance and how to sew to a particular seam allowance, how to pin and cut fabric, how to sew in a straight line, and how to sew curves.
- Skills Expected: None, just an open mind!
- Materials Needed: 1 yard fabric. Recommended fabrics such as quilting cotton, canvas or linen. Please refrain from upholstery weight fabric for your first time sewing.
- Materials Provided: pillow form, sewing pattern, a sewing machine, coordinating thread, fabric shears, pins, marking tools, invisible zipper and an iron.

Brezza Cucina’s culinary team teaches little chefs how to stretch pizza dough before they top their pies themselves and watch as the pizzas bake in the restaurant’s wood fire oven. Classes costs $25 per child, including a complimentary glass of wine for mom or dad, and are held from 5-7pm. In this class you will learn all the basics of sewing, including learning the parts of the sewing machine and how to use them, learn how to wind a bobbin, thread the machine and troubleshoot common issues. Once you’ve threaded the machine you’ll learn how to cut and pin fabric, learn the basics of understanding seam allowance, straight stitching, sewing curves and corners, and inserting a snap. We’ll provide the measurements to cut and specific instructions to guide you along the way to make a useful and beautiful tool kit.
