PCM Community Farmers Market @ The Shed

Located under “The Shed” on the BeltLine entrance of Ponce City Market, the Ponce City Farmers Market  is the only farmers market in Georgia primarily attended by pedestrians and cyclists. The market is held seasonally on Tuesday evenings, and hosts some of Atlanta’s finest local food talent, including urban farmers, artisanal food makers, as well as pop-up chefs. Our market is a producer-only market, meaning that vendors sell only products that they grow or produce themselves. Our farmers use organic practices (some going even beyond organic) to help steward the earth while producing the freshest and most nutritious food available in Georgia. Look for veggies and fruits, pasture-raised eggs and meats, alongside artisanal food vendors and natural beauty-care vendors.

We encourage shoppers to access the market by walking or biking on the Beltline or park at Ponce City Market. Parking is complimentary for farmers market shoppers in the lots in front of Mountain High Outfitters. Market shoppers can receive one hour of free parking in these lots by choosing zone 22200 and inputting the code FARMERS2018 in the Park Mobile app. This is only valid during market.

Meet the Author: Peter Houlahan @ Posman Books

Norco ’80 is a gripping true crime account of one of the most violent bank heists in US history, telling the story of how five heavily armed young men—led by an apocalyptic born-again Christian—attempted a bank robbery that forever changing the face of American law enforcement. Part action thriller and part courtroom drama, Norco ’80 transports the reader back to the Southern California of the 1970s, an era of predatory evangelical gurus, doomsday predictions, megachurches, and soaring crime rates, with the threat of nuclear obliteration looming over it all.

Author Peter Houlahan conveys how a group of landscapers transformed into a murderous gang of bank robbers armed to the teeth with military-grade weapons. Their desperate getaway turned the surrounding towns into war zones. When it was over, three were dead and close to twenty wounded; a police helicopter was forced down from the sky, and thirty-two police vehicles were destroyed by thousands of rounds of ammo. The resulting trial shook the community to the core, raising many issues that continue to face society today: from the epidemic of post-traumatic stress disorder within law enforcement to religious extremism and the militarization of local police forces.

Satcha Malas Pop-Up

Modern Mystic Shop

Want to create your own custom wrist mala using Satcha Malas sacred technology? Sasha Korellis, the Founder of Satcha Malas, is joining Modern Mystic Shop to introduce her amazing mala technology to the Atlanta community. Her malas are thoughtfully and artfully crafted, each one hand knotted while a mantra is chanted, then spiritually cleansed with sage and a clearing meditation to enhance the vibration and intention of the mala. Each mala is made from natural and sustainably harvested sandalwood and rudraksha seeds that come from India, precious and semi-precious curated crystals, and hand knotted with organic linen thread that is grown in Belgium and hand spun in Italy. These malas transcend their singular use in meditation and transform into powerful technological tools of manifestation and healing. She will have pre-made malas, as well as kits that allow you to craft your own custom wrist mala to lock in personal intentions. The mala kits will include various crystals, sandalwood, and rudraksha beads. Stop by Saturday, August 17th or Sunday, August 18th to chat with Sasha about her amazing process, check out these one of a kind malas in person, and have the chance make your own mala!

Books & Booze: The Changeling

City Winery Atlanta

Ponce City Market’s Posman Books and The City Winery have teamed up to put a new spin on the term “book club.” Literature lovers can purchase their copy of the month’s selection today from Posman Books and later bring it to Atlanta’s urban winery on August 20th, 7 pm – 9 pm, to enjoy a spirited discussion among fellow readers. Posman Books’ General Manager Marc Stiles will host.

This month’s selection is modern horror classic The Changeling by Victor Lavalle. Like the best horror it uses genre tropes to dig into the muck that lies beneath society’s veneer. Apollo Kagwa has always led a … let’s say … tense existence as one of New York City’s only black book dealers. (It’s hard to concentrate on buying antique books when the nice suburban couple won’t let you use their bathroom, and the neighbors are watching your every move.) But Apollo thinks he’s stumbled into a perfect life when he marries librarian Emma Valentine and the two start a family. As baby Brian grows, Emma begins acting stranger and stranger, and Apollo starts finding increasingly unsettling photos on his phone. When a drastic action on Emma’s part breaks the family’s lives open, Apollo finds himself living in a terrifying fairy tale, fighting his way through secret islands, haunted woodlands, and a terrifying, mythical New York, all to try to win his wife and son back. The story examines race, class, true love, romance, revenge—all the good stuff—all while staying true to its horror roots.

Technique Class: Everyday Sous Vide @ Williams Sonoma

Williams Sonoma encourages you to learn a new technique this summer at one of the upcoming in-store classes.

Sous vide cooking is so much easier than its fancy French name implies: the technique, which means “under vacuum,” is a tried-and-true process for cooking food at just the right temperature. In this class, we will teach you the basics of using a sous vide and share a great recipe that you can try out at home.

2019-08-20 19:00:00 2019-08-20 21:00:00 America/New_York Books & Booze: The Changeling Ponce City Market’s Posman Books and The City Winery have teamed up to put a new spin on the term “book club.” Literature lovers can purchase their copy of the month’s selection today from Posman Books and later bring it to Atlanta’s urban winery on August 20th, 7 pm - 9 pm, to enjoy a spirited discussion among fellow readers. Posman Books' General Manager Marc Stiles will host. This month's selection is modern horror classic The Changeling by Victor Lavalle. Like the best horror it uses genre tropes to dig into the muck that lies beneath society’s veneer. Apollo Kagwa has always led a … let’s say ... tense existence as one of New York City’s only black book dealers. City Winery Atlanta

There is no difference between you and your divine endurance. The pressure we all go through is sometimes unbearable and this pressure is always here. Atmosphere has a pressure, longitude and latitude have a pressure, and aptitude and attitude have a pressure. That is why we build spiritual endurance through meditation and mantra. Sometimes each person’s load can only be taken collectively. Collectively we can pull the weight. We have a collective strength in us, hand in hand, in friendship, in the love, and in the affection.

“All our life needs is for us to come to a spiritual endurance. The effect of this spiritual endurance is the primary factor that can take you calmly and quietly through the channels of life. Do not keep things to yourself and say, ‘I cannot.’ There is nothing you cannot do.”-Yogi Bhajan

PCM Community Farmers Market @ The Shed
Jun 11 @ 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm
