Stepchild is the saga of the Gibsons, Adrienne and Josh, a fictional contemplation of love and race in America in the post-civil rights movement era. Set in Atlanta, Georgia, during the 1980s, it chronicles the love affair of Josh, a dispirited soul haunted by tragedy, and Adrienne, the love of his life. Determined to provide a solution rather than a conversation about America’s most enduring problem-race-Adrienne is pursuing her doctorate in sociology when she arrives at Morehouse College and meets the man she will come to call my Josh. They fall in love amongst the ruins of the crack epidemic beginning to rage through America and struggle with Josh’s battle to overcome an addiction to the devil’s dandruff. Loss seems to be the theme of their life together, but they never cease to believe in the power of love-the same belief Adrienne bequeaths her community in her dissertation, a document dedicated to the power and consequence of choice.

Determined to provide a solution rather than a conversation about America's most enduring problem-race-Adrienne is pursuing her doctorate in sociology when she arrives at Morehouse College and meets the man she will come to call my Josh. They fall in love amongst the ruins of the crack epidemic beginning to rage through America and struggle with Josh's battle to overcome an addiction to the devil's dandruff. Loss seems to be the theme of their life together, but they never cease to believe in the power of love-the same belief Adrienne bequeaths her community in her dissertation, a document dedicated to the power and consequence of choice. PCM Community Farmers Market

The Shed

Located under “The Shed” on the BeltLine entrance of Ponce City Market, the Ponce City Farmers Market  is the only farmers market in Georgia primarily attended by pedestrians and cyclists. The market is held seasonally on Tuesday evenings, and hosts some of Atlanta’s finest local food talent, including urban farmers, artisanal food makers, as well as pop-up chefs.

This week, PCFM welcomes the Georgia Forestry Foundation and the Chattahoochee Nature Conservancy for special programming in conjunction with National Forest Products Week. Join us and learn how working forests provide products that are essential to our everyday survival, comfort, and progress.

Our market is a producer-only market, meaning that vendors sell only products that they grow or produce themselves. Our farmers use organic practices (some going even beyond organic) to help steward the earth while producing the freshest and most nutritious food available in Georgia. Look for veggies and fruits, pasture-raised eggs and meats, alongside artisanal food vendors and natural beauty-care vendors.

We encourage shoppers to access the market by walking or biking on the Beltline or park at Ponce City Market. Parking is complimentary for farmers market shoppers in the lots in front of Mountain High Outfitters. Market shoppers can receive one hour of free parking in these lots by choosing zone 22200 and inputting the code FARMERS2018 in the Park Mobile app. This is only valid during market.

Literature lovers can purchase their copy of the month’s selection today from Posman Books and later bring it to Atlanta’s urban winery to enjoy a spirited discussion among fellow readers. Posman Books’ General Manager Marc Stiles will host. January’s book is Great Small Things by Jodi Picoult. The story line involves an African-American labor/delivery nurse in charge of newborns at a Connecticut hospital. She is ordered not to touch the baby of a white supremacist couple. After the baby dies in her care, she is charged with murder and taken to court. The story is told from the complex multiple racial perspectives of the principal characters, the nurse Ruth, Turk Bauer, the white supremacist father of the baby, and Kennedy McQuarrie, Ruth’s lawyer.
