Topstitch Class: Ogden Cami @ Topstitch

The Ogden Cami* is the perfect stash busting & quick advanced beginner top. This is a great learning garment or ideal for the confident sewist wanting to maximize her handmade wardrobe. The Ogden Cami is a simple blouse that can either be worn on its own or as a layering piece under blazers and cardigans. It has a soft V neck at both center front and center back necklines, and delicate spaghetti straps. The neckline and armholes are finished with a partial lining for a beautiful, high end finish. Want a complete summer outfit? Our Advanced Beginner – Peppermint Shorts or Essential Skirt classes are the perfect compliments!

~Please let us know if your bust measures more than 44″ inches~

This is a 3-hour class.

  • Skills taught: How to sew with lightweight fabrics, sewing a lining, working with a v-neck and sewing spaghetti straps.
  • Skills expected: Intro to sewing classes or have equivalent experience. You have some basic garment sewing experience such as a pullover top or a-line skirt. You know how to thread and use a sewing machine. You’ve sewn within the last 2 years. You will not be taught to sew in this class so please be sure you already know how to sew!
  • Materials needed: Recommended fabrics are Light weight woven fabrics such as crepe, rayon challis, voile, and lightweight linen. See the pattern yardage for your size.
  • Materials provided: The Ogden Cami sewing pattern, a sewing machine, coordinating thread, fabric shears, pins, marking tools, measuring tape, an iron and ironing board.

*Note: To save time and space for your fellow sewists, cut your pattern out before class so that you can jump right in to sewing. We will mail your pattern approximately two weeks before class to give you time to cut out. If you want to collect your pattern in person, just let us know in the notes at check out. We encourage you to contact the shop before class if you need help cutting out your fabric.
