Topstitch Halfmoon Atelier Workshop @ Topstitch

We are so lucky to have Meghann from Halfmoon Atelier visiting our shop for a special workshop, where she will be teaching how to make her Delpy top/dress.
Delpy is an easy-to-wear camisole top that is fitted in the bust and looser around the waist and hips. As a dress, it loosely graces over your hips and has a unique rounded corner and slit. This is a 6-hour class with a 30-minute break.

Note: To save time and space for your fellow sewists, please cut out your pattern and fabric pieces before class. We will mail your pattern approximately two weeks before class to give you time to cut out. If you want to collect your pattern in person, just let us know in the notes at check out. We encourage you to contact the shop before class if you need help cutting out your fabric.

  • Skills taught: The skills you will learn in this class are how to sew a gathered bust as well as different styles of straps and sewing french seams.
  • Skills expected: You’ve completed our intro sewing classes or equivalent of experience. You have basic garment sewing experience, know how to thread and use a sewing machine, and have sewn within the last 2 years. You will not be taught to sew in this class, so please be sure you already know how to sew!
  • Materials needed: Light-weight wovens, such as double gauze, cotton lawn, rayon or linen. It would also be lovely in satin, silk or velvet! This pattern can easily be adapted to knits by simply dropping a full or partial size, depending upon the stretch content.
  • Materials provided: The Delpy sewing pattern, a sewing machine, coordinating thread, fabric shears, pins, marking tools, measuring tape, an iron and ironing board.
